Action on two fronts

PURIFI aims to provide clean drinking water using a unique, portable water-purification system. We have contacts with the official distributors and have agreed cost-price rates with them for the product. We have divided our charity work into two distinct projects:

Large-scale relief

We’re providing large-scale water purification for areas of special need with a history of contaminated-water illnesses. The project has already begun in the South of Sudan and will move on to other areas. Parts of Sudan are particularly badly affected by impure water and we know of an urgent need for clean drinking water in particular villages. Our contacts in the Sudanese government are helping us implement the project.

Disaster areas

PURIFI is also bringing relief to disaster areas where clean drinking water is an immediate necessity, such as after the tsunami. To help in these areas, we provide tablets (a similar size to those used for clothes washing) to decontaminate water, using collapsible five-gallon buckets. The whole package is highly compact and cost-effective. Working with other charities, we send the packages to disaster areas so that locals simply fill up the buckets from a river or lake and drop in the tablets.
